How do I download charts to navigate offline?
To save maps for offline navigation, follow below steps.
1. Go to the “Plan” tab
2. Open map settings
3. In the upper right corner, click on “Offline Maps”
4. Click the button “Create new offline map”
5. By zooming in or out. Select the area you want to download within the highlighted square.
6. Click on the "Download map" button. For large areas and large files, it takes longer to download the maps.
7. Once the map is downloaded, you have the option to give the map a name, edit the map or delete if you regret it.
8. When you feel ready, click “Done” to save.
Please note that downloading large areas of offline maps may require significant storage space on your device. For reference, a map covering 5 nautical miles can take up about 25 MB of space. A map covering 10 nautical miles takes up about 100 MB of space.
Our recommendation is therefore to only download maps of areas where you know that the connection may be poor. We understand that it is an important function to be able to quickly download large areas on a chart. Therefore, we are continuously working on improving this function.
