My Skippo

How do I transfer data from an old account to a new account?

Transferring your data from an old account to a new one in the Skippo app can be done by following these steps:

Ensure your data is saved:

Before switching devices, log into the Skippo app on your old device. This ensures that all your data, including plotter tracks, favorite places, and other settings, are correctly stored in our cloud service. Download and log into your new device:

Download the Skippo app on your new device from the relevant app store. Once the installation is complete, log in with the same Payment ID (or login details) that you used on the old device. Handling when switching operating systems:

If you are switching between operating systems, such as from Android to iOS or vice versa, note that you may need to sign up for a new subscription. Subscriptions are often linked to the specific operating system's ecosystem. Synchronize your data:

Once logged into your new device, go to your profile within the app and ensure that synchronization with the cloud service is enabled. This will allow the app to retrieve all your saved data, making it available on both your old and new device. Note about login and data:

It's important to remember that your data is stored locally on the device when you are not logged in and on your Skippo account when you are logged in. If you are not logged in and switch devices or uninstall the app, your locally saved data will disappear. To retrieve your data, log into the account where you were last logged in.

By following these steps, you should be able to seamlessly transfer your data from an old account to a new one. Remember that your data is linked to your Skippo account rather than your subscription, so be sure to use the same login details to retain access to your data.
